Another bump in the road
Well, after another long day of waiting, we have just been informed that we are out of options in Petropavlovsk. Our coordinator has worked with the Dept. of Education in another region and they have agreed to work with us and have our paperwork transferred. We don't know any details yet, but it looks like they would like for us to go to Pavlodar where they may have a few children for us to meet. We are waiting for more news, details, when, etc...
We have figured out a way to check email and post blog updates pretty easily, but most other internet searches are harder on dial-up. If you know of any info about Pavlodar, please comment or email us, it would be so helpful...everything that we've researched to date has been about Petropavlovsk.
We will post more when we know; better get off of the internet now in case they need to call us again! Gotta love dial-up!!!

Our thoughts are with you guys. Hang in there. We were in your position less than a year go. If they are recommending another region, that is a vry good sign. When our first trip to Petro did not work out last August, they had checked other regions and the only other children available had been too sick to warrant travelling. I'm not sure if you are with Svetlana...if you are, you are in great hands. Trust in the people....sometimes it is difficult...but we ended up with our little girl because we kept the faith and did not give up. We are really sad that you had to go through this. Good luck with the next part of your journey,....it is so worth it in the end Jocelyne and Sven (jocelyneandsven@blogspot.com)
Cortney, hi, this is Susan from Austin. I don't know anything about that region, but I would suggest that someone post something for you in a couple of the yahoo chat rooms asking people to email you as soon as possible. I almost did this on your behalf given your limited internet access, but I didn't know what email address to have them write to. And I certainly didn't want to do that without your permission.
I'm about to head out of the country, but I bet Sven and Jocelyn would post something for you, or you may have other online friends, as well. I belong to two chat rooms and they were very helpful while I was in country.
Just an idea. Hang in there. I followed Sven and Jocelyn's journey and they've given you great advice. All my best, Susan

I'm so sorry Petro didn't work out you guys. My heart hurts for all that you have gone through in the past couple of days, and the things you've had to deal with. I don't know anything about Pavlodar, but I'm glad to hear that there are children there potentially meeting your requirements.
hey guys.. I was contacted today by your friend Sheila due to the fact that we are supposed to travel to Pavlodar soon... she had NO idea if we'd already traveled or not... however, we have received our LOI to Pavlodar dated May 14 - Aug. 15th... We don't have exact travel dates yet, but hope to soon!
There have been 3 families with our agency who have adopted from Pavlodar in the past year or so.. and I contacted them all 3 and asked them to contact you... I hope they do.. Know we are pulling for you and praying for you.. hang in there... so sorry things have been tough!
Many blessings.. and we're praying..

Hi Cortney,
We would be happy to post something on the yahoo chat group on your behalf. Unfortunately, your experience (and ours) is beginning to happen far too often. Let us know (our e-mail address is kazadoption@gmail.com) and we would be happy to help you in any way. By the way.. I just rememebered if Svetlan is indeed your coordinator, she lives in Pavlador and would have lots of "push" in the city. She is the reason that we now have Annabelle and we are forever grateful for her help. Jocelyne
While I do not know your new region, I just wanted to say that I know of a few families that had tochange region adn all had very good experiences in the new region. They are usually pretty sure there is a child that will match with you before they recommend a change of region.
Good luck
Julie
If you go to the Kazakh Adoptive Families blog (http://www.kazakhadoptivefamilies.com/families.html), you will find that adoptions are classified by city of origin. There are 6 blogs listed under Pavlodar.
