Trip to the Mall

Here's a few pics from our day today.  We took a walk to the mall to get Ry some tennis shoes (scooter & flip flops = scraped toes), took several walks with the scooter and finished the night up at Classic Pizza for Dinner.  Ryland was not a fan of pizza...weird...we were not expecting that!!  Luckily he gobbled up the crust, mashed potatoes & some soup.  We had scrambled eggs for breakfast and it was the first time for him.  Although Dust makes a mean scrambled egg, I was worried he wouldn't eat it - but he had no problems with the eggs, banana & yogurt. He has an appetite like his father!!!  He is saying the cutest things every day and is constantly cracking us up!  Today he learned fast and slow and, of course, fast is his favorite!  While riding the scooter we hear this constantly "Papa, help...fast".  We are loving spending all this time with him and exploring Kazakhstan...but are ready to come home!!!  It takes a lot to entertain him for 12 + hours with not a whole lot to do!!  Tomorrow, we are hoping to go on a river cruise...another first, a boat ride!!

Inside our train cabin just as we were pulling back into Pavlodar.
Tickle Time!
Ice Cream!  Shortly after this picture he said "Mama, pink please".  He wanted to trade me!  :)
At a scenic place on our walk home from the mall.
At the fountain right by our apartment.  He thinks all fountains are just beautiful!

I hear you on the wanting to come home. It is great that you and Ry will both know his birth culutre and birth city so well by the end. One huge perk is that you are getting to do a lot of your attachment work without the other task of day to day life in the US. I know it is a PITA but our delays after custody were some of the best times we had with Emerson. Hang in there.

Lukas was not a big fan of Pizza at first either. Now, one year later, he loves pizza.

I hear you about trying to find things to do for 12+ hours a day while away from home. The first few days weren't too bad because everything was new to him. As time went by though it became harder and harder.

I agree with Karon, although we would have preferred to be home it was nice to not have the day to day living distraction for a couple of weeks.
