Excellent News!

Our judge has agreed to have our court hearing on June 8th, a week from today!  We'd like to leave Friday so that we have a full day in Pavlodar before court to visit D and prep for court.  We are SO EXCITED!  The crazy part is that our visas will be ready at the consulate in NY on Thursday.  They will have to overnight/early AM deliver the visas to us so that we get them Friday morning and fly out Friday afternoon...pretty short window!  It's a gamble, but what isn't in this process!?!  We are trying to get all the last minute preparations done.  Key word...trying!  We are glad that there is high speed internet at the apartment and can't wait to experience that!  It will make communication to work, family & friends so much easier!

Our coordinator spoke to the Director of the Orphange and she said to tell us that D is doing well.  He misses us very much, but is excited for us to come back with the red remote controlled car!  She said that the staff knows to tell him about the car when he asks about us.  I'm thinking I should get another one just in case there's a baggage handling mishap; establishing trust is so important!!  ;)

Hopefully we'll have travel reservations in the morning!

Goodnight y'all!

Wow, that is SO awesome. At first when you said the judge was on a month-long holiday and that court might not be until July, I just wanted to shout Noooooo! I am constantly amazed at the upbeat attitude you both have. Here's hoping that all your packing goes smoothly and that the two of you, D and the all important red car will be reunited VERY soon!
Cheers,
Tanya (mama to Cooper from Schuchinsk)

Wonderful news!! I'm so glad you'll get there before the judge takes off. I travel date was delayed by over 5 weeks because they found out the judge was going on vacation the day before I was leaving! I wish I were a Kazakh Judge!! Here's hoping your judge is in the mood to get out of Dodge so he has a quick court and an even quicker Positive Decision!

Safe travels and best of luck!

I am so happy for you. I have been reading with anxious anticipation of what would come next. If you need anything while there our wonderful exchange student Daniyar is back in Pavlador and he knows all about your journey. I am pretty sure his dad works in the office that issues visas and passports for the region.

Yeah! I am so happy to hear you are going back soon. Our visas had to delivered to the Newark airport between our first and second flight as we were heading to Kazakhstan so sometimes cutting it close does work! Good luck,
Jacqueline
